Senetor Edward "Ted" Kennedy dies at 77 after a long battle with cancer. Kennedy died late yesterday at his home in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod. A malignant brain tumor was diagnosed in May 2008 and doctors operated on it the following month.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) was the last of an American political dynasty, alongside his brothers John and Robert. He served more than four decades in the Senate and led a life of triumph and tragedy.

The Chappaquiddick scandal was undoubtedly the darkest scandal in Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's life and one that most likely denied him the presidency, linked to the death of a young woman from Pennsylvania. Mary Jo Kopechne, a 28-year-old secretary, was leaving a party with Kennedy on July 18, 1969, when the senator drove his car off the side of a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts. Kopechne was found dead in the submerged car the next morning. Kennedy, unable to explain how he escaped the vehicle, did not report the incident to police until after Kopechne's body was discovered.

The senator's family announced his death Wednesday morning, stating "we've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives."

The senator spent his final 15 months working on his memoir, sailing and talking about his career's signature issue, health-care reform.

Edward M. Kennedy's final resting place will be close to the famed gravesites of his slain brothers at Arlington National Cemetery.

There goes the last of the Kennedy dynasty. Our prayers go out to the Kennedy family.

Senator Ensign Cynthia Hampton Affair - The juicy details are coming out about the affair between Senator John Ensign and staffer Cynthia Hampton, known as Cindy Hampton and includes a possible extortion attempt by Mrs. Hampton's husband Douglas Hampton that caused Ensign to go public with, not one, not two, but his third affair.

46 year old, Cynthia Hampton served as the treasurer for Ensign’s reelection campaign and for his political committee and her husband, Douglas Hampton both worked in Ensign's Senate office, but both no longer work for Ensign.

Also it is believed that the affair between Senator Ensign and Cynthia Hampton began in December 2007 and continued through August 2008, four months after both Cindy Hampton and Doug Hampton left Ensign’s staff.

Political insiders in Nevada and in the Senate said that Senator Ensign decided to acknowledge his affair with Cynthia Hampton publicly only after her husband asked him for a substantial sum of money.

Darlene Ensign didn’t appear by her husband’s side, instead issued a statement that made it sound like a medical illness: “Since we found out last year, we have worked through the situation, and we have come to a reconciliation. This has been difficult on both families. With the help of our family and close friends, our marriage has become stronger. I love my husband.”

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. You know she ain't even sleeping in the same bed with that man and hasn't been for years! Hence all the multiple affairs! The fact that she didn't appear by his side says it all. I would be by my husband's side...pinching the living sh*! out of him while he gave his statement. LOL! Oh and did I mention, Tiffany's and Jared's would know me by first name along with the rest of the world for the humiliation and embarrassment?
